AlphaSmart Neo!

I ordered an AlphaSmart Neo and it arrived today! Of course, I haven't been able to use it yet because it needs to charge for 16 hours first. After that, the recharge time should be between 4-8 hours.

I'm really excited. The Neo is an affordable alternative to a conventional laptop. Why do I need a CD/DVD player/burner and more memory for videos or photos? That's why I have a computer. But the kids are always using mine or I'm at work. And there in a nutshell is the problem.

Now I'll be able to bring the Neo to work and use it during my lunch break or while sitting in the dining room at Taco John's waiting for my shift to start (or when I'm at home and the kids are hogging my computer to check their e-mail or play World of Warcraft). It allows me to write while away from my home computer, and that's all that I ask for right now.

In theory, I'll get some writing done... That is, if I don't fall asleep at the keyboard, which has happened on more than one occasion lately...

Cool! I want one too! But stay awake, please - I want you to stay safe (plus also you might write fic, which would be a good thing ^_^)

So far I love it. And I'll try to stay awake, but I haven't yet adjusted to the whole closing thing at Taco John's. The 5pm-8pm shifts were fine, but staying to close until 1am or later is killing me.
