Today was cold, overcast and rainy. But despite that I am feeling a bit better. I'm still sick, but today was the first day in too long that I didn't feel dead-dog tired. I'm going to take that as a sign that I'm getting better. *crosses fingers* Though getting caught in the rain on my way home might set me back... ^^'
Dave asked me to polish all of the chairs legs in the breakfast room because they are looking rather beat up. Our guests aren't careful when they scoot their chairs around and they are showing considerable wear and tear. The polish only helps blend the fresher marks in with the rest of the wood, but doesn't really do anything to make them look any better, IMHO. But there's no way we're going to get new chairs so we do the best we can.
After work I stopped at the bank to deposit my Taco John's paycheck, since I couldn't do it yesterday because the banks were closed. Then I decided to stop at the new Hollywood Diner on 90th and Maple. Sadly, I was not impressed with their decor or food. It was too cluttered for my taste and they, like many places now, had big screen TVs. It annoys me that we Americans are so attached to the boob-tube that we have to watch it while eating out.
(I believe I've ranted about that before, but it still bugs me)
To make things worse, they also had the radio playing oldies at the same time. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT? Either watch the TV or listen to the radio. It makes no sense whatsoever to have both going at the same freaking time. It's ridiculous.
On a happier note, I went on-line and bought three Folkmanis mouse puppets. XD I can't wait to get them! When I was young, I wanted to be a puppeteer, but I realized that I didn't like kids so I decided that wouldn't be a good career choice for me. But I still love puppets. I used to have a frog one I named Xavier, but someone (namely my younger brother, CJ) cut him into pieces. Pissed me off something fierce, believe me.
I must admit that I went looking for an Xavier replacement, but couldn't find one to my liking. But the mouse ones were so adorable, how could I resist?
