Does anyone know anything about this program?

I've been kicking around the idea of buying an art program, but I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on Photoshop and GIMP isn't working on my computer so I uninstalled it. I don't want to do photo manipulation, I don't really want to make videos or icons or any of that nonsense. I like to draw and would like to be able to do so on my computer. That's it.

Did I mention that I am really bad at learning complex programs? Yeah. I suck at that sort of thing.

After a lot of searching, I found this program, which is $29.49 on Amazon.com. It looks like just the basic beginner's program I may need/want. It certainly is a lot cheaper than Photoshop. And do I really need Photoshop? I don't think so. And if I find this program (and digital art in general) is not for me, I'm out $30 instead of HUNDREDS. I can live with that.

When I have the money I would like to buy a tablet because I can't draw with a mouse to save my life.

ArtRage actually has a free version on it's website! It doesn't have all the features, but it should be enough to try it out, at least.

I have the free version and okay, the lack of layers function (You get it on the paid one) annoys me, but apart from that slopping paint around and playing with the chalks and pencils and felt tips is kinda therapeutic! :D

EDIT: Ah! I found the pade with it on! Here you go!

Thanks so much for the link to the free version. I've ordered the paid version, but it's great to be able to mess around with it in the meanwhile. *^-^* I'll definitely need a tablet, though.

Shirley seems to like it, too. I might not be able to get her off my computer... ^^'

I felt stupid for not knowing what you meant by layers so I didn't ask, but now that I've actually used a digital art program, I now know. And yes, they would be VERY helpful. Thanks again for showing my the free version. It has been interesting and I am eagerly awaiting my program.

I haven't wanted to draw so much in a long, long time.
