Any recommendations?

I feel like I've been losing interest in anime in general and yaoi in particular. Not that I don't like either, it just seems that I can't find anything to catch my interest of late. The last anime series I really got into (though I could never write fanfic for it for some reason) was FullMetal Alchemist.

Can anyone recommend a really good anime? Death Note, Bleach and Naruto don't really appeal, though I've tried. The day-in-the-life stories of Japanese teenagers don't really hold much interest, either. Perhaps something with a really good plot and maybe some supernatural elements? It doesn't have to be yaoi, either.

I just don't have time to do a lot of browsing and I know I want something interesting... I just don't know what.

Let's see you could try Jigoku Shoujo which is a supernatrual show about a website where you write the name of the person you hate and get them sent to hell at a cost.

Also you could try Higurashi no Naku Koro ni about a guy named Keiichi Maebara whose family moves to a small village in the mountains. Every thing seems fine at first as he makes new friends and enjoys life there but after the local Shinto ritual takes place things take a turn for the werid. It's a very bloody show but defently worth watching as the plot is really intersting as you get drawn in trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

If you like animes where you hav to think theres Ghost Hound. It's about three boys (two of whom are in my avater) who start having out of body experiances and about why one of them was kidnapped when he was younger and the fallout from that. The plot/characters were design by Shirow(the guy behind Ghost In The Shell) and animation by Production IG. It's a great show and the boys are really interesting characters.

The last show I'm going to rec is Bokurano about a group of kids who meet a guy in a cave who asks them to beta a new computer game about a giant robot. They agree only to find it's not a game at all with deadly results. It's a brilliant show.
